With Breast cancer statistics on the rise, Aestheticians should consider becoming knowledgeable about how to educate patients living with, or dealing with breast cancer.  An Aesthetician should personalize each spa treatments. Although the focus is on skin care, these clients may have additional complications beyond the treatments, such as the effects than can occur by the medications.

Research has shown gentle massage and the human touch has improved side effects such as nausea, insomnia, pain, and anxiety. And for those leading stressful lives, being stress-free even for an hour is great for the mind, body, and soul.

Clients who are undergoing breast cancer therapies can experience a variety of benefits from spa treatments that are personalized for their needs. Most patients will have dry, dehydrated, sensitive skin that tears easily and requires soothing, hydrating and moisturizing treatments.  If not treated after post cancer follow up, then the person will have 6 to 8 layers of dead skin cells, clogged pores and discoloration/hyperpigmentation issues.

Every client needs to have a spa treatment personalized based on how their skin reacts to chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy and whether the treatment is taking place during therapy or during recovery.

Skin-related side effects are common throughout therapy or recovery. The loss of collagen, a disruption occurs in the balance between the rate of cell renewal and the destruction of cells at the skin surface causing the skin to shed severely and/or quickly.
